An Exceptional Music Program

In addition to covering the Archdiocesan Music Standards for each grade level, the Music classes at Holy Spirit Catholic School have opportunities to share their God given talents at All School masses each Wednesday. Kindergarten through 8th grade have performance opportunities at the Grandparents' Day Program and Christmas Program.

Recorders begin in 4th grade.  Beginning Band starts in 5th grade.  Middle School Band is grades 6th through 8th.

Concert Choir is 6th through 8th grade.  The choir performs for multiple events throughout the school year such as Mass, the Gaudeamus banquet, Crown Center Christmas events, and at local nursing homes and concerts.

Awarded Outstanding Music Educator

Connie (Maltby) Marzen was named outstanding music educator in the northeast district of the Kansas Music Educators Association.  “She’s great,” said former student Thomas Martin. He’s now a freshman at the University of Missouri and plans to study voice. “She’s the first person who got me into choir. If not for her, I probably wouldn't have done it. I hope to have a music career, maybe opera.” (The Leaven)
